How to Back Up Data to ❆Cold Storage

Method 1: Using the Polarbackup Desktop Application

  1. Open the Polarbackup desktop application.
  2. From the Polarbackup dashboard, click on Data Selection.
  3. Refer to the Cold Storage tab and add the files/folders that you want to back up to the Cold Storage.
  4. Click the Save icon.

 

Method 2: From the Polarbackup Web Console

This approach is exclusively accessible within the Business edition of Polarbackup.
  1. Sign in to your Polarbackup web console as an admin user.
  2. From the left-side menu, click Policies.
  3. Create a new policy, or select to edit an existing one.
  4. Under Cold Storage Data, you can use the Add files/Folders path options to select the data to be backed up to Cold Storage.
  5. Click the Save button to confirm the changes.

 

Will Files Selected for Both ❆Cold Storage and Instant Storage Be Backed Up Twice?

No, the files will not be backed up twice. Instant Storage takes priority in such cases.

To store data in ❆Cold Storage, ensure it is selected exclusively for ❆Cold Storage within the Data Selection window of the Polarbackup desktop application or designated under Cold Storage Data in the backup policy.

 

How Can I View Files Backed Up to ❆Cold Storage?

  1. Sign in to your Polarbackup web console.
  2. Refer to the My Computers page.
  3. From the left-side panel, select the machine you want to view its backup.
  4. Go inside the Cold Storage folder by clicking on it, and start to browse the data there.
