Polarbackup is Uploading my Files Using my 3G Connection, how can I Stop that?

Method 1: From the Polarbackup software

  1. Right-click Polarbackup agent (icon) in the system tray → Open Dashboard.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Select the Connection option from the left side menu.
  4. Select the type of the connection you prefer Polarbackup to use when uploading the data. There will be three options there, and you can select more than one of them:
    • Wired connection (LAN).
    • Wireless connection (WiFi): You can also create a WiFi Safelist, to specify which WiFi connection Polarbackup can use in case you have multiple WiFi connections.
    • Mobile connection (PPP, 3G, 4G, etc.).

Method 2: From the Polarbackup website

This method applies when you are using a policy to control the backup.

  1. Sign into your Polarbackup online account.
  2. Refer to the Policies tab.
  3. Click on the Edit button next to the policy name you wish to edit or create a new policy.
  4. Under the Settings tab, and from the General Settings section, select the type of the connection you prefer Polarbackup to use when uploading the data, from under the Only allow Polarbackup to upload on option. There will be three options there, and you can select more than one of them:
    • Wired connection (LAN).
    • Wireless connection (WiFi): You can also create a WiFi Safelist, to specify which WiFi connection Polarbackup can use in case you have multiple WiFi connections.
    • 3G connection (PPP).
  5. Click the Save button to save changes.
