On Windows machines, the Polarbackup desktop software temporarily stores the files while working on backing them up in the BackupCache folder. The default location of this folder is:
%Appdata%\PolarBackup\PolarBackup\Jobs\{6E820F39-1F0F-4C22-A9F6-5E7CAE6F6FA7}\Data\BackupCache
You can change this default location by doing the following:
- Open your Polarbackup desktop software.
- Click on Settings.
- From Settings, go to Preferences → Refer to the General tab → Click on Change Cache Drive button.
- Select the drive that you want Polarbackup to temporarily cache the files to it and then Save the changes.
Polarbackup will move the files from the old to the new location, and a hidden folder with the name _PolarBackupCache will be created on the drive that you have selected.
